Thank you for giving a hand:)
First:

Read this short text ;)

General:

With SpamTrapPhp you just "have a look" in your mail-boxe(s) directly on your ISP(s) pop server(s) whithout downloading your emails.

Many spam filters compare the sender's email or words with a "black-list". SpamTrapPhp works the other way. It compares sender's email and some parameters with a "white-list".

NO EMAIL DOWNLOADED

SpamTrap filters known sender's emails and it's up to you to 'accept' or to destroy any other message directly on the server before downloading them.

INSTALLATION

  • 1- Requirements.
    1-1 Windows:
If you don't have Apache and Mysql installed you can use easyphp (download -free-). Install it and unzip SpamTrapPhp in the www/ directory, easyphp will create.

1-2-1 If you have Apache and mysql already installed (linux or windows):
Check if you have the module php_imap installed.

The inc/directory is protected by a ".ht_access" ( perlscript) . Be sure it can be interpreted or delete the 2 files .ht_access and .ht_notes.txt.

1-2-2 If you've set the starting index to index.php you'll have to start the index.html first.

2- Copy all directories and files where Apache can reach them ( Windows easyphp = www/ ) Linux where you set it in your httpd.config

3- When you run STphp for the first time:
This form leads to a php file which will create:
  • 2-1- the data-base

  • 2-2- the tables needed by STphp (If you use STphp on local the text fields are already filled.).

  • 2-3- on clicking on "Create" at the end of the form, it will be created:
  • 2-3-1- a text file .ht_notes.txt with your login and your pass for access to the directory if needed. (Normally you shouldn't have to open it while on line).

  • 2-3-2- a text file gotsha.txt with your login and password needed to connect mysql.
  • When all these files will be created index.html will be erased to let index.php alone at your site root. So it could be smart to keep a backup of this file.
After saving, check the text files and the php file to see if all necessary logins and paswd have been stored,

    that'all !

Set your accounts, check emails, choose what you want to keep or erase. (click for snapshots)

Then you can use your favorite OE or NetScape and look at messages as usual.

NB: If you're using SpamTrapPhp please send me some feedback.
